Some More Patina Greatness….More Art Than Shoe!
There aren’t many shoes that I would be afraid to wear, but in the case of this model above (by Corthay), I think that I would just might have to leave it sitting in a glass case, for fear of ever ruining that amazing patina. And while many of the more practical people in the world, may look at this and think, “who the f*** would wear that?”, I am thinking, “Who the in hell commissioned it? That guy is a legend!” When I first saw this, I was blown away, not only for its beauty, but more so because they made green and black look like they belong together, which I might say is hard to do. The more that I think about it, the more that I realize that I have become more attracted to the idea of green dress shoes. Something about a nice, deep green really does it for me…..
As far as the one’s below, by Mr. Nurulaeff, I must say that while I have never like the idea of camouflage on a shoe, I must say that I would happily wear this version. And as for the British flag, or any for that matter, can’t say that I have ever been that patriotic…..not enough to have to remind myself of it, by looking down…..
Nevertheless, they all express the idea that there are great artists, who can all create great art on what they know best: The canvas that is a shoe……
