In bespoke there are no limits to what you can do with a shoe. This simple fact however can be a blessing and a curse. Sure there are some guys who know dead-on what they want and that makes it’s simple, but what about when you want to create something new? When the possibilities are limitless, the task of choosing what you want can be quite daunting. That’s why it is nice to be able to get some influence from bespoke samples that the makers will create to give inspiration to the clients.

The shoe presented at the top and as the centerpiece in the image below is one of George Cleverley’s new models that I have taken a fancy to. The model itself is actually a whole cut oxford with green imitation stitching to pose as different pattern pieces. It’s quite unique as a model and of course I love the fact that it has such a strong contrast in stitch and is paired with ribbon laces (particularly the green ones shown below). I can see this becoming one of their most sought after models, as it’s classic enough for most but has nice added twist of modern refinement! Now just imagine it with red stitching!

GC bespoke starts at £2800 and this price includes the last and the shoes trees. And it just so happens that they are starting a massive US tour in May, so if you are interested in seeing whether or not they are visiting your city, please check the link below:

What a gorgeous shade. I could take or leave the ribbon lacing, but man, what a beautiful shoe!
