Worn to Reborn – The Decorative Sole Repairer

Art can be expressed in so many ways it is not even funny. Could be by building a place mat with wine cork or creating a small sculpture with hanger wire to simply creating beautiful drawings. But today we are talking about shoe art, because what else is there to talk about on a shoe blog?!! The art in question takes form in the decoration of shoe repairing whereby a young man in England takes shoe repair to a new level by customizing his resoles to the specifications of the client. And I am not just talking about colors and cut, but if you want Spider Man, Shrek or Bilbo Baggins on your sole he can draw or etch it for you! His work is quite amazing actually and while many think ‘why ever put something on your sole as you will simply ruin it,’ I think that the artist realized that too, so tends to keep it limited to the waist area that while won’t stay perfect forever will at least hold out for as long as possible to be able to appreciate it for what it was.

Unfortunately he does not yet have a website, so I cannot tell you much more about him. But he is on Instagram and you can find him at the link here: https://instagram.com/worn_to_reborn/

It’s a man who clearly understands what Oscar Wilde meant when he wrote “All art is quite useless”….
