The Shoe Snob Anniversary Sale!!

The Shoe Snob (as a company) just recently turned 4 years old on Sept. 19th. It’s amazing to think that I (and my business partner) have actually had a company for 4 years and how far it has come. I remember our first order. It was for £600 and was nothing but wax polish. We told our suppliers, don’t worry we will grow and become very good customers. And thanks to all of you […]

Hiro Yanagimachi NYC Trunk Show

I don’t have a lot of time today to write but for those of you lucky enough to be in or around the NYC area, come this Oct. 2nd/3rd, don’t miss out a chance to see Hiro Yanagimachi’s shoes in the flesh as he is hosted by Leffot for a debut trunk show in NYC. His shoes are simply on another planet and I think that the pictures speak for themselves.

JF Button Boots Now In Stock, Ready For Shipment

I realize that early this week, I said that it was going to be a week about Spanish shoemakers, but I guess that I was only telling a half truth. And while I may not be a Spanish brand, I guess I can get off a little with the fact that at least my shoes are made in Spain!! Well, the Button Boots have finally arrived (less 2 pairs that are delayed but in route) […]

Ramon Cuberta New Unique Creation

I realized yesterday that my recent posts were on a path of similarity with who I was writing about and who I wanted to write about in the same week, in the fact that they were all Spanish. So I figured, ‘hey, let’s make this a Spanish shoe week!’ That being, allow me to present you Ramon Cuberta’s latest project which is a very creative wingtip adelaide that takes lines/edges (in both pattern, last and […]

Norman Vilalta Uniqueness

What I love about Norman Vilalta shoes is the fact that they are always something different aka unique. There is not much normality going on in his collection and I think it’s great. It’s had to start a brand only doing things that push the envelope and 90% of Norman’s collection does just that. And maybe that is the reason that he has done so well. I mean, who else is doing reverse patina on […]

The Best Shade of Tan by Carmina

For me, tan is a hard color to get right. If it is way too bright, it is hard to wear with most suits that we have in our wardrobe. If it is too dark then it might as well be mid-brown. Getting it just right is where the trick lies. The problem is that it cannot really be done just by buying the leather (from the tannery). You have to alter it […]

The Hulk of Dress Shoes

There are not many makers whose hand coloring skills compares to the likes of the team at Saint Crispins. And because of those skills, their shoes always come out looking so incredibly vivid. So vivid in fact, it makes you not want to wear them and thus ruin the perfect polish that they come with. That’s exactly how I felt when I saw this green u-cap adelaide oxford by SC for Skoaktiebolaget. I love the […]
