Ducal – The Florentine Secret

Ducal

I first discovered Ducal at the first Pitti that I ever went to and was incredibly impressed by what I saw and was surprised that I had never heard of them before. And while I still don’t know a ton about them I do know that they make incredible shoes with incredible design (my pictures really don’t do them any justice). They are based out of Tuscany and make shoes to every kind of standard there is i.e. cement, blake, blake rapid, handwelted etc. While I am unsure if they have any stockists outside of Europe, I know that like most brands you can email them up and ask for MTO, but they won’t have readily available stock. Here is what I saw and managed to get photos of during my time at Pitti Uomo 89. I hope that you enjoy them!

These are some marvellous specimen! Quiet astonishing variety and fascinating details, although some are naturally not my kind of flavour the designs are incredibily ingenious. It doesn’t get boring to scroll through the whole lot. None looks like the other. Or, on a sidenote, much like anything one grew accustomed to see elsewhere. Certainly not your pair of daily go-to’s.
Probably one of the perks of being a wallflower…respectively an MTO/Bespoke-Manufacturer.

    Hi,
What do you think of Doucal’s? Are they respectable?
