Dear Readers,
Most of you will not be affected by what happened but to explain nonetheless one of our associates email address was hacked and due to that, his email sent out a phishing scheme email enticing people to open an attached document. If you received this email, as shown in the screenshot above, please do not attempt to open the document and simply delete it. If you do this, nothing would have happened to you and you can carry on with your day. I have run a malware protection scan on my computer and there is nothing that comes up as a threat (and I did not open it).
If you happened to open it, well then you need to immediately change your password to all of your emails connected to the account and quite possibly change passwords to any associated activity to that account (i.e. bank account passwords etc). I don’t mean to alarm but it is better safe than sorry. Nothing was taken from us as we have already checked our bank accounts and payments systems but like I said it is better to be safe than sorry. Also run an immediate scan on your computer.
While the above may sound dreadful, this appears to be nothing more than a phishing scams which is mainly to infect computers/phones/tablets with viruses. They don’t normally steal information but you never know.
I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. None of my email addresses nor our [email protected] nor [email protected] were affected so pleased do not be alarmed to continue emailing us. It was only the email shown in the attachment.
