Blue Suede Beauties on Sale by Skoaktiebolaget

There are some sweet shoes on sale right now at Skoaktiebolaget’s website, two of them being these beautiful blue suede numbers by Carmina. The featured above is one of my favorite combinations of the year. As many of you may know blue is my favorite color, and I just love it in suede even more. And creating a two-tone out of it puts it right up my alley. Skoak did a job at great […]

Carmina’s New Autumn/Winter 2017 Collection

Carmina has recently launched their new A/W17 collection and there are some very cool and elegant options in there, not to mention that there are about 60 new SKU’s in total (which is a lot!) . As it is obviously highlighted, my favorite of the bunch is this two toned spectator brogue above. It is not often that you see this color-pairing of brown calf and olive suede and while some might deem it a […]

New Oxford Model by Enrile

Spanish shoemaker Enrile, has recently released a new model that I find to be quite attractive and unique. His models are often hit more miss with me, more so for the bulbous last shapes. But this one while still having quite a puffed up toe, at least has a more slender silhouette which is very pleasing to my eye. The puffed wingtip and heel counter feature I always found intriguing, never loving it but neither […]

A Most Interesting Design By Yanko

It looks as if this week I am focusing on unique shoe designs as today I wanted to discuss this model that I recently found by Yanko, one of the Spanish shoemakers of Mallorca. To be honest I cant really say how I feel about it. Its definitely unique but am unsure if it is to my own personal taste. There are a lot of design features going on and I have yet decided […]

Norman Vilalta Launches Gladiator Brogue for RTW/MTO at Pitti 92

For those of you that are fans of the brogue of all brogues, you will be pleased to know that Spanish shoemaker, Norman Vilalta, is currently showcasing his new RTW/MTO model at Pitti Uomo 92, hopefully to be ready soon for ordering by the general public. Inspiration taken from one of his old bespoke samples from years gone, it would appear that Norman found that this model should finally hit the streets with the offering of […]

The London Super Trunk 2017 – The Results

As many of you may have read, I am soon moving to NYC. That being, I have been up to my eyeballs in sorting out my life here to have a seamless transition between countries. But what that means is that my time is quite limited for long blog posts and whatnot. Therefore, while I would have liked to make my own post about the London Super Trunk that Jesper and I put on, I […]

London Super Trunk Show — Brand Showcase #9 — Yanko/Skolyx Shoes

Yanko is a Mallorca-based (Spanish) company which the founders of both Carmina and Meermin used worked for back in the days (all three coming from the original Albaladejo family/shoe brand). The three companies have nothing to do with each other nowadays, although many of them share the same last name. The Yanko brand was actually a giant in the shoe industry up until the 80’s, and made over a million pairs of shoes a year (which […]

Ramon Cuberta New Made to Measure Models

Ramon Cuberta has just released two new and very attractive models for his ‘Made to Measure’ program to give customers more options in choosing their favorite model. His MTM program is much like the bespoke in which you can get a fully handmade shoe, but what is different (much like MTM in suiting) is that instead of getting a custom made made and measurements, you get approximate measurements based off another last and fitting it […]

Some people love cars, some love watches, some love video games and then there are those that love menswear, particularly the staple ingredient known as ‘shoes.’ And then there are some people that love them way more than others and have a true passion for them, in all sorts of shapes, colors and styles. Sole Preacher of Instagram is one of those gentleman, a true shoe aficionado collecting anything from patina’d sneakers, to shoes with […]

London Super Trunk Show – Brand Showcase #6 – Ramon Cuberta

Ramon Cuberta is another bespoke shoemaker also based in Barcelona, but was trained at home first by two Spanish independent shoemakers (pretty sure Norman Vilalta helped him along the way) and then by one who freelanced for John Lobb Ltd. He became know for offering full bespoke at relatively low prices(starts at £1750/€2 050), and during spring he’ll also launch a Made to Measure range of five models, three lasts, made as his bespoke shoes but will […]
