Laszlo Vass Trunk Show London – Nov. 4th

VASS IS COMING TO LONDON!!!! So get prepared as it is something quite novel and exciting at the same time. I have always loved Vass shoes for their mix of elegance and substantial like nature. the boot above ( as well as the pics below) are a great example of that. It is a one night event, full of not only shoes and men’s clothing/accessories but drinks and food galore. Don’t miss out if you […]

Polish Shoemakers – Don’t Knock It ‘Til You Try It!

Today has just been manic, only now getting 5 seconds to get to the computer. Don’t even know where the day went? Oh well, it happens. Anyway, to make up for lack up words, I will just give you some pictures of a few of Jan Kielman’s shoes, who is Poland’s most famous shoemaker. And he does a great value for money too, just search his name in my ‘search bar’ on the bottom right.

Edward Green At Pitti Uomo 87

Another stop that I always make is the Edward Green stand and this time I saw something very interesting stuff, including this boot above, which I believe was a design of theirs from the early 1900’s that they are reinventing! Among others was the addition of some nice green semi brogues and some lovely spectator two tones in blue. It was nice to see EG branching out a bit, quite contrary to the comments […]

Spring Boots by Meermin

It always makes me curious why people will pack away their “winter attire” come Spring/Summer. I guess it makes sense if you live in a place that is +30 C (+80F) for 5-6 months long but when you live in a city that has moderate to terrible weather, as I always have, it does not make sense. That being, I have never packed my boots away and don’t think it makes sense to […]

Septieme Largeur Expand to Singapore

Every companys’ dream should be to find themselves expanding internationally in some fashion or another. That great day has come for Septieme Largeur and it takes place in the form of their very own shop in the heart of Singapore. Not only is this great news for the brand but also for the people of Singapore, as I have heard time and time again from my blog readers based there, that the selection of well […]

Red JM Westons

Photo Courtesy of En Grande Pompe What a beautiful shoe!! Probably not everyone’s color of choice but it’s hard to deny that the shoe looks nothing short of amazing. While red is not that practical for day to day wear, it is a striking color nonetheless that can create great admiration and desire, particularly when put on one’s feet in an elegant way. Imagine this lovely underneath a nice mid-blue birds eye or herringbone suit […]

Septieme Largeur Fall/Winter Product

A trip to Paris is not complete without me giving Septieme Largeur a visit to see what they have been cooking up! And it just so happened that a lot of their Fall/Winter 2012 product was coming in and I had the chance to take a couple of snaps for all of you to preview. I never tire of this brand because there is always something fresh to see, whether it’s a new patina color/variation […]

Yohei Fukada – The Next Legend…..

I find it absolutely amazing how many Japanese shoemakers today, were once just a person with a dream of starting their own bespoke shoe shop. None of them just become so by chance. They all created their future with a goal to become one, a determination to study under the best and the perseverance to learn as much as they could, all the while perfecting their skill. And the fact that there are so many […]

Today’s Favorites – Bespoke Austerity Brogues

I have a friend who like me, once ventured outside of the US to go and study shoemaking (among other things, such as be with his wife…also like me). That adventure landed him in Germany, where he is currently residing and continuing to perfect his craft and skills, in the hopes (of which will occur) of becoming a bespoke shoemaker who offers lovely shoes to people around the world. On occasion, he gets a chance […]
