Bestetti’s workshop must be one of the greatest places on earth (for shoe lovers). The amount of shoe greatness that he creates on a regular basis, must add up and create a stockpile of beautiful pieces of art that one could drool over for hours on end. While I go to Italy quite frequently (to visit the in-laws), I find it saddening that I never get a chance to make it up to Vigevano (about a 5 hours away from where I go) to pay him my respects… Hopefully one day I can make a trip of it, giving myself a chance to see Milan properly and even better an opportunity to pop over to see Mr. Bestetti and all of his shoe glory. And while I am sure that it won’t be too long away, I find myself getting anxious just thinking about it!
Nonetheless, please see some of his latest and greatest works that always pushing the boundaries of brilliance. While many of you know that I am not the most found of exotics, I must say that I am quite partial to the whole-cut alligator loafer that has a lovely subtle patina to it, but even more so than that is the adelaide oxford with alligator attachments. That is simply sublime….
I hope that everyone in the UK is enjoying their bank holiday Monday and well to the rest of you, that you are enjoying another Monday as best as you can!
Sincerely,
Justin, “The Shoe Snob”
