Polish Shoemakers – Don’t Knock It ‘Til You Try It!

Today has just been manic, only now getting 5 seconds to get to the computer. Don’t even know where the day went? Oh well, it happens. Anyway, to make up for lack up words, I will just give you some pictures of a few of Jan Kielman’s shoes, who is Poland’s most famous shoemaker. And he does a great value for money too, just search his name in my ‘search bar’ on the bottom right.

Boots All Year ‘Round!

I have found myself wearing a lot of boots lately, even though the sun is starting to creep out. Now, I have always loved boots and could probably be quite satisfied with simply having them (and only them) in my wardrobe but seeing their increasing prevalence in the industry makes me think that even though they are higher cut in terms of touching above our ankles, there is no reason why they can’t be worn […]

Pitti Uomo Pays Off

When you go to Pitti and are standing in the main bit where everybody is congregating, all you see are all the famous internet “Style Icons” and a load of photographers. There are so many pictures being taken that you never know where one of them could end up. I always make a joke that for all I know, me or one of my friends could be on some massive billboard in central Tokyo. While […]

The Shortwing Wingtip

I am all for tradition and not necessarily breaking the mold (altogether), but every now and then it’s nice to bend the rules a bit and do things slightly differently. This full brogue Corthay model, called Vendome, does just that by not only creating the pattern with lines that are far more curvaceous than normal, but more so by using a very small wing cap as opposed to the traditional one that is much larger. […]

Jay Butler Shoes

Being American myself, there is nothing better for me than an “American Dream” success story. In my opinion, as bold as it may be to say, I believe that we all have the capabilities to become who we want to, within our lifetime. More often than not, it simply ourselves who hold us back from doing/being just that. But every now and then, someone out there believes in them self (whether American or any race […]

Barbanera Strikes Again!

I never get tired of a two tone shoe/boot/slipper/moccasin whatever it may be! One color is nice, but two is always better in my opinion. It just sets the tone for something a bit more original. While the classic spectator, shown here by Barbanera, is nothing immaculately different the derby boot on the other hand in navy and what looks like extremely light grey suede, is simply sublime. That is something you wont see […]

Dear Readers, For those of you whom were not able to attend our London sample sales, I have put what was leftover online at the absolute lowest prices can be. Good Light + Beautiful Shine = Great Photography

I have said it before and I will most likely say it again but good light, a fun backdrop and a good shine equals a beautiful representation of any shoe, particularly the nice ones. This picture, shot by one of the employees at The Armoury NYC, of the double monk Saint Crispins cap boot is one of the nicest that I have seen in awhile. What I really like about it (apart from the lovely […]

Old School Balmoral Boots by Fujiwara Shoes Studio

What I love about Instagram is that you have all of the pictures accessible with a quick click of your phone. No need to get on your laptop and search them all out. And with that, I have infinite access to the discovery of new makers through other people’s feed. One that I love is @BespokeMakers, who highlight many Japanese artisans in both shoes and clothing. One that they most recently highlighted was Fujiwara Shoes […]
