Polo Shirt by Yeossal – The Review

Today, for the first time, I do something different on The Shoe Snob Blog and review a shirt, specifically the new Polo Shirt by Yeossal. I was actually quite surprised when they asked me to review this, as they are not shoes, but am super glad that they did as it has become my absolute favorite shirt in my wardrobe (and truth be told, I have like 50 shirts, so that is saying a lot!). […]

TYE Shoemaker – Most Interesting Brand of Today

Bespoke shoemaker, TYE Shoemaker, out of Japan has been making some very very interesting shoes since coming to light a few years back, thanks to Instagram. The latest are these very intriguing and unique blue suede Crocodile Norwegian welt derbies with a commando gum sole and a bamboo pattern. Damn, that’s a lot going on. Not to mention the braided trimming, just a little touch of detail that TYE likes to commonly through in there. […]

Bykowski Button Boots

There is a custom clothier, Bykowski Tailor Garb, out of Austin, Texas who is making welted button boots and adding to this fine sector of the shoe industry. He has decided to offer some of his stock on The Shoe Snob Marketplace, going all the way up to UK15/US16 in some models. It’s great to see something different being offered. I like how they make the button boot more rugged looking. Something that you could […]

J.FitzPatrick Footwear Summer Sale – Now Live!

After waiting many months, we have finally received our stock (most of it that is) and have officially launched our Summer Sale. There are several facets to the Summer Sale so please read carefully below so that you understand it all. As we continue to restructure J.FitzPatrick Footwear, we have felt it logistically easier for us to simply run the sale on one site, the US website. For those of you in Europe, please take note […]

Berluti Impresses on the Bespoke Side

Following yesterday’s roast of Berluti’s RTW atrocities, is the upside post about their Bespoke Program and the amazingness that comes out of that. I recently saw this photo on the Instagram account of @sole_preacher and was immediately impressed with all that was going on. Now, don’t get me wrong. This is not a ‘normal’ shoe. This, for me, is not necessarily a wearable shoe either (i.e. I would not wear it) but the detail, making, […]

Berluti Does It Again – Ruins Dress Shoes

It pains me to write these types of posts against Berluti as in reality they use to inspire me and have made some of the most beautiful shoes that I have ever seen. But again, maybe that extreme contrast between beauty and ugliness in their shoe production is what keeps me writing these posts, in the hopes that they will stop making these atrocities that can barely pass as shoes. I just don’t understand what […]

Loafers Done Differently

It’s super refreshing to see a unique creation that looks good and that one can obviously see that thought and passion was put into it. I know that I say this all of the time but its what keeps me passionate about shoes. I lose my interest in footwear when all I see is the same crap being rebranded at a cheaper price. Its boring. It lacks passion. Its just business for the sake of […]
