Dear Readers, The day has finally come and I am so anxious that it’s hard for me to even write. For those of you whom have created your own website and did most of the content yourself, you will know what I am talking about. That being, the e-commerce site for my shoe line, J.FitzPatrick Footwear, is now officially live. It has been a long time coming and it feels weird to even think that […]

Instagram + Shoes = The Future….

Vintage Boots from circa 1920’s If you have a smartphone, you should probably get Instagram. Now, I am not one for tweeting my thoughts or updating every 5 seconds what I do in my life, but I must say that I love taking pictures of shoes, altering the effect of the picture and then sharing it….you see, the time in my day is far and few between for reading, but to simply look at pictures […]

Red Trousers….Get Some!

I am not 100% positive in saying this, but I am quite sure that I prior to moving to Europe to study shoemaking, I never ever saw anyone wear red trousers. But over here in Europe, they are literally a staple piece in most stylish mens’ wardrobe, which I think is quite great! I feel like many men in the States (or maybe just Seattle, where I am from) are mentally confined to simply wearing […]

They Are Listening….And It Is About Time!!

I don’t know if it is because of shoe designers like Mark McNairy and Grenson (of whom were amongst the first to come out with abnormal coloring in shoes) or because of my blog, and other ones like mine, but it would finally seem that the brands that may have once been seen as strictly conservative in their shoe making are now branching out and becoming a bit more eclectic! Never in a million years […]

The Fashionable Hiking Boot

Merrell x Collette Collaboration (Picture from Shoe Buff) I saw a surge of this type of boot in last year’s Autumn/Winter seasons but I have a feeling that this surge is going to be an explosion this upcoming A/W season. I can’t say that I am a huge fan of hiking boots altogether, as they tend to be a bit on the chunky side, and like I have said before, having a relatively slim frame […]

Shoes Of The Week

I can’t say who these who are by, but I must say that they are absolutely AMAZING!! These have to be the coolest roller-skates I have ever seen in my entire life, and while that it not a hard feat to overcome, no one can deny just how absolutely fantastic these are. Granted, I would have much more appreciated the actual boot as a normal wearing shoe, but the person who skates in these will […]

Today’s Favorites – Donald Pliner

I can’t really say that I am particularly fond of the shape of the oxford and the way that it’s toe box seems to severely slant upwards, but the idea behind these shoes is absolutely amazing! Red detailing on a blue shoe just might be one of my favorite color combinations, if done properly. The oxford reminds me of a bespoke shoe that my colleagues were making while I was training in Italy. It was […]

Today’s Favorites – Grenson Spring/Summer 2011

It really doesn’t get much more exciting than this!! For the Spring/Summer 2011 lineup, Grenson is offering all of the things that I wish every company would offer: colored laces, contrasted colored soles, teal/blue colored shoes, some form of saddle shoe, spectators etc. I love the fact that someone (besides me) has made a teal colored shoe that can be sold to the world. I really hope that many distributing stores buy those shoes so […]

Shoes Of The Week

Being from Seattle and America for that matter, I have never really needed to own any protect-your-feet-from-snow type of shoes. I have always liked the idea of these types of shoes but was always put off by the chunkiness of them, not really being a big fan of the clunky looking soles that they tend to have. But now I live in England and with the way the weather has been changing, I fear that […]

Colored/Contrasting Laces

Shoes By: Markowski When it comes to French shoemakers and French men, in general, I have to say: THEY ARE THE MOST DARING!!!! Even more so than the stylish and bold Italians, the French will do things that no one else does or even tries. A close second may be the Japanese. But where else can you find bright blue shoes paired with pink laces and actually see someone wearing these on the streets? Some […]
