New Scarpe di Bianco at Pitti Uomo 87

Another brand that I always enjoy visiting while I am at Pitti Uomo is Scarpe di Bianco. Apart from enjoying a nice catch up with owner William White, I know that I can always count on them to have new interesting and cool models, such as most of these in the pictures. William does exactly what I would love to do if funds were more available and that is to simply make tons and […]

Septieme Largeur New Winter Stock

The apron toe is going strong around the globe this year and Septieme Largeur offers a boot version that feels ever so slightly different than the rest. I can’t quite pinpoint it though, what it is that makes it different. It might be because of the split at the nose or because the vamp seems a bit more extended with respect to other versions , but either way it is different yet very appealing. I […]

A Trip to Vigevano to Meet Riccardo Bestetti

Riccardo Bestetti and I have been virtual friends for a long time. He is probably one of the first bespoke shoemakers that I had contact with in reality (outside of Stefano and G&G). As I always liked his shoes and yearned for content, I asked him to email me when he had new stuff. But our emails were more than simply an exchange of photos for gratitude. Through our passion of footwear and writings […]

The New Stefano Bemer

Since we are on the subject of Bemer’s (as per yesterday’s post), I thought that I would continue on by finally getting up the pictures of the new Stefano Bemer workshop/company from my visit to Pitti in July. For the few of you that may not know, I spent one year under the care of Stefano Bemer (the man himself) and company back in 2008 when I went to learn how to make shoes by […]

Some Edward Green MTO’s….jaw dropping!

Another rushed day here so just going to leave you with some Edward Green goodness that I happened to stumble upon on Instagram (which has a lot of great things on it – shoe wise!). These are mostly MTO’s with exception being the last picture I believe. Some cool things here and good to see EG, a very classic British company, doing some nice, crazy things! Love the blue ghillie monks at the top, would […]

Ducal – A Florentine Delight!

It’s amazing what brands are in Italy that are still quite small and unknown. One of those brands is a Florentine one called Ducal, which I happened to stumble upon while at Pitti Uomo. I am quite glad that I did too, because I was so immensely impressed by not only the quality but also the design. Things that I saw there were simply amazing, particularly this braided double monk above. And for the record, […]

Antonio Meccariello Shoes – Exquisite!

I think that this is the first time that I have posted the shoes of Antonio Meccariello on The Shoe Snob blog and for many of you that know of the brand, you might be wondering what took me so long to finally do so. Like Saint Crispins, Antonio Meccariello is a brand that has been around for a little while now, but all of the sudden took the blogosphere/shoe industry by storm. On […]

Carmina at Pitti – New Things to Come!

While at Pitti I visited my friends at Carmina and needless to say I was quite impressed with all of their new models/colorways that I saw, particularly this lovely combination in their balmoral boot as well as this new slip-on/oxford model directly below. Carmina never ceases to impress and seeing their showroom really gave me an idea of how big they are as a brand in reality. They don’t do a lot of marketing or […]

Santoni’s Goodyear Line

I have a love/hate relationship with Santoni. I don’t really hate them, they are actually very nice people who treated me very kindly when I went to visit their factory some years back. But I do love what they can do, which is what they do least of i.e. their Goodyear welted line. They seriously have the potential to be one of the greatest factories in Italy, doing shoes that stack up against any John […]

New Models Around the Globe

I don’t know why I never did this before. I guess that I was just too busy thinking about finding the coolest shoes that I could, but obviously with the web at my fingertips, it was never difficult for me to gather what is new and share it with all of you. So here I am doing it now….better late than never, right?! Therefore allow me to share with you what I have gathered from […]
