The New ‘Souliers’ Book by Hugo Jacomet

My good friend Hugo Jacomet of Parisian Gentleman and Sartorial Talks was kind enough to send me one of his new books, Souliers, an ode to some of the finest shoemakers around. It’s a beautiful book that I highly recommend to any shoe enthusiast and especially if you own a menswear store. It’s a great table piece that all will enjoy reading, if not simply seeing the beautiful photography and great shoes shown! Sartorial […]

Sartorial Talks – The Best Shoe Brands of 2019 (Part 1)

Hugo Jacomet, of Parisian Gentleman, does the world a great service here by listing some of the top shoe brands the world has to offer. In his Sartorial Talks series, he gets on ‘The Best Shoe Brands in 2019’ and was so kind enough to reference myself, the blog, and my shoe brand. Thank you Hugo!! If you haven’t heard of Hugo yet, which I probably doubt is the reality, then you must […]

Parisian Gentleman’s 2015/16 Shoe Review Part 1

Every year Parisian Gentleman does a review/list of all of worthy makers of the world and a breakdown about what makes them who they are and their pricing. It is an amazingly extensive list that I can only praise them for taking the time to make. Must be a week’s worth of work in one grand (and informational) post (and this is only part 1!). As I don’t have the time for that these days, […]

Parisian Gentleman 1st Commerical – NSFW

Dear Readers, I was recently exposed to Parisian Gentleman’s first ever commercial and I got to say that I find it quite interesting to say the least. There are many things in this world that many people would consider taboo to speak about but think what holds us back as society is being able to speak openly with each other about these things and then respect the other’s viewpoint without taking offense (me being one […]

The Saddle Shoe is Back!

I am starting to see a lot more dressy saddle shoes lately and I am quite pleased by that as it is probably my favorite type of dress shoe. As I have said before, for me, the saddle shoe creates the perfect opportunity for a well balanced two-toned shoe. Even if one was to be monotone but bi-material, it still presents a subtly elegant duality but one that is nonetheless noticeably present. And that is […]

Dimitri Gomez Bespoke Balmoral Boot

This is one of the nicest photos I have seen in awhile. Not because it’s done in any fancy way, but simply for all of the textures/color/light variations that make up the whole photo. But what I really like best about this boot by Dimitri Gomez it is the old world reminiscence that it provides, reminding me of how shoes used to be made back in the Victorian/Edwardian Eras. When you look at boots from […]

La Beaute’ du Geste

Dear Readers, Here is a video on the great craftsmanship that still exists in the world today, whether it be in shoes, cars, food, jewelry etc. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to see how great products get constructed with passion and creativity and the people behind them. This video was created by Mr. Hugo Jacomet of Parisian Gentleman, in conjunction with Maison Corthay. I hope that you enjoy it. On another note, if […]

Vistis From PG, New Chisel Toe Last & Possible New Marcos Model

So as many of you may know, last week I was off at my factory, doing a bit of QC on the production, as well as thinking about the future and preparing for progress. While there I stumbled upon an error model that the factory made, just which happened to be something that I found quite appealing and that was my Marcos model (pictured above and below) in black box calf and black suede. What […]
