What’s funny is that I have been to the Gaziano & Girling shop about a million times now and have seen this shoe those same million times but it never really hit me like it did today when seeing their new photography on the website. And what dawned on me most, was the fact that out of the 80 or so pairs of dress shoes that I have, not one of them is a dark brown suede loafer (used to have one but gave it away). Then I started thinking about how versatile the dark brown suede loafer is/can be, especially for someone that wears jeans about 5/7 days of the week. Now I am kicking myself for not having one!! Been making myself too many dang boots! But I am not complaining 😉
But what I really like about rendition by G&G is the contrast stitching. It’s so fine and subtle that it does not take away from the loafer in any way but rather highlights the details that make it a apron-stitched penny loafer. Maybe I can find one for sale in the sample sale that they are about to have here in London in March (details to come later).
On another note, Awl & Sundry have created a Kickstarter campaign with the hopes to offering their shoes at an even more affordable/accessible price then they already are. If you are a fan of the brand and hope to see their shoes at a cheaper retail price, this might interest you. Check it out:AWL & SUNDRY KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN

You have 80 pairs of dress shoes? You know, there’s probably some medication that might help you with that compulsive habit. Just kidding. In truth, if my budget allowed, I’d probably have nearly as many pairs myself. By the way, I agree with your opinion on those G&G loafers. Very nice!
