As many of you may have realized from knowing my background and having seen my shoes, much of my inspiration as a designer came from my year with Stefano Bemer and the fact that I was not only surrounded, but also immersed into the world of shoes. Stefano’s design ethos very much blended the idea of a British look with Italian flair, incorporating color in what would otherwise be a conservative model that you might find the average Mayfair gent wearing. That simple idea has also been the base that I use to design my own shoes, although I think that I try to add a bit more of French aesthetic too and also a bit more daring options like the use of tartans, cloths and denim. That being, seeing photos like this very much reminds me of my time there and how I felt when admiring all of the shoes and absorbing their essence into my very being (may sound weird, but that was how my inspiration came in!)
Am off to Milan tomorrow for Lineapelle, so might not be able to get many posts out for the rest of the week but as always, I will try my best or at least try and keep up Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Wishing you all a great rest of your week!
