New Summer Collection at Septieme Largeur Geneva
Summer time is fast approaching and many places are already becoming extremely warm and humid, as it was during my time in Italy. Therefore, what you are noticing is that suede shoes are looking more and more appealing to gravitate towards. Septieme Largeur took advantage of this idea and went full blown on the suede shoe selection for their new S/S release, making 7 different models (I missed one for photos – the longwing brogue) in the same variation of suede colors: beige, snuff and navy. On top of that, they went full comfort by making many of them unlined which is great for those that want something sturdy (read: welted) but not super stiff thus creating the perfect way between comfort and durability.
I personally have never been a fan of unlined shoes, but that is mainly because I need support for my messed up feet. I need to feel sturdiness or my feet start aching. But I would love to wear a pair of shoes that felt like butter, all day long. Maybe when I am old and have a chauffer!!
I particularly like the loafers and the derbys of this collection. The derbies remind me of an American ‘Buck’ shoe, but infinitely more elegant than a lot of what you find in the States with models coming on what I feel to be overly round lasts. The last that they put these derbys on is quite round, but no so much that it looks like you have a pancake on the foot. I hate that look. This last has just enough curvature to maintain a manner of sleek elegance, IMHO.
The SL shop in Geneva just received their stock of these great models so for those of you around that area, please do go check it out.
