Paul Parkman – A Shoe Review

Shoes made out of Turkey has become another population destination for intricate shoe design and construction, as these Turkish factories offer everything under the sun. Paul Parkman was one of the original brands to come out with Turkish made shoes and have done a great job at creating a very sought after brand for those that like shoes on the more bold side of things. Paul Parkman was kind enough to send me a shoe […]

Sartor Polishing – Your London Spruce Up on Crockett & Jones Shoes

One of Crockett & Jones’ employees, Bismark Walter, has taken it upon himself to become a master of the brushes and learn mirror polishing and patina in order to add an extra value service to the Jermyn St. shop of Crockett & Jones in London. He has apparently built quite the reputation and customer following as his Instagram account is filled with beautiful shoes and polish/patina jobs. You can see a couple of them here. […]

The Two Tone Penny Loafer

People often think of conservatism when they think of British rules of dress. And truth be told, there are very strict rules and ideas of the way “one should be” and this ideology runs deep in British culture which dips into their sense of dress. But for a while now there has also been a strong opposition or rebellion to this ideology, especially in the way of dressing. The red dress sock, so often seen […]

Penny Loafers – Classic Round Toe or Modern Elongated Toe?

The penny loafer is the most classic style of loafer there is. And probably my least favorite as I personally prefer a butterfly or wholecut version. But I am not the end all be all as most of the world still loves a good ‘ol fashioned Penny strap version. But the question now is which version is more preferred by the people: the classic round last or the modern elongated toe? I have always preferred […]

New Fresco Range by Gaziano & Girling

Gaziano & Girling has recently launched a new Summer Range of ‘fresco’ shoes. As the name would entail, these shoes are meant to be something more ‘lightweight and flexible’ compared to the standard welted range that you typically get from British shoemakers. It is like a touch of Italian soft shoulder on the standard structured English cut. And what they came up with is the Capri: A classic penny loafer with an elongated toe on […]

A Solid Line Up – A Personal Collection of Carmina Shoes

A pretty solid line up here shown by @armandomadrid of Instagram. This is just of his Carmina collection which is quite impressive really for having just one brand in 10 pairs of shoes. Very loyal which I am sure Carmina is happy about as I know that I love it when my clients are like that with me. If I had to critique it, I would say that only one thing is truly missing and […]

Löf & Tung’s New Loafers

Skoaktiebolaget’s house brand, Löf & Tung, has just launched some new loafers for the Summer. Two are classic leather loafers that really don’t do it for me in an exciting way, but I love the suede versions. I have always been a fan of the braided tassel loafer, and the dark brown suede version is a must-have for any man that likes a classic yet still not too common tassel loafer. I have also really been […]

Black Suede Shoes – Where Are They?

I love black suede. It is probably one of my favorite materials to make footwear with. But I never do because I can’t just make samples for myself without the possibility of trying to potentially put them into production. And the shame is that no one buys black suede, at least hardly anyone does. And I have always wondered why? Why is that that people love black calf shoes but are so afraid of black […]

Maftei RTW for Shoes Fever

For those of you a fan of the Austro-Hungarian style of shoemaking you will be pleased to know that one shop in South Korea, named Shoes Fever, has started carrying Maftei Ready to Wear shoes. In a world of cell phones and laptops and free worldwide shipping (for companies that can afford to offer that), one no longer has to take a trip to Vienna to acquire a pair of shoes from the famous Austrian/Romanian […]

Carmina’s Exotic Leather Loafers

Carmina has recently launched a new MTO product, being a series exotic leather Uetam loafers which I must confess are pretty cool. Unfortunately, this is not something ready made but at least they are on the table and ready to be ordered. And who knows, if enough of you order or ask for them to be RTW, they just might consider it. Either way, I loved the color options here with your blues and greens […]
