In this Meermin shoes unboxing video, we break down the mainline, classic collection that offers some of the best-value shoes that the shoe industry produces. It has been a while since I reviewed a shoe by famous Spanish shoemaker, Meermin Mallorca, otherwise simply known as Meermin. But as a fan of the brand, we are happy to dig deeper into the classic collection and it’s perceived value.
Here I take a look at their standard Goodyear welted line, specifically the brown suede double monks on the Hiro last. These beauties cost only $195 and offer a solid Dainite-like rubber sole. They are made with a very soft Italian suede and a good quality full-grain lining. The fit of the Hiro can be tricky as it is narrow-ish last. I am usually a UK7 narrow (US8 narrow) and I took this in a UK7, which fit quite well. This is surprising and only a handful of lasts in the industry fit me well in a UK7.
These are not the best shoes in the world but certainly the best for the price. Even more interesting is that in 2024 (having edited this post), they still maintain that $195 price, which makes them even more attractive!
